She was predeceased by : her former life partner James L. Harris; and her grandson Nathan Harris. She is survived by : her daughter Ellen; her great grandchild Zoom; her husband Donald Fitting of Solebury, PA; her son Guy Harris of Mountain View, AR; her grandchildren, Lauren Stuart (Mike Stuart) and Alisa Anderson (Geoff Anderson); her daughter Karen Harris (Rob Gips) of Portland, ME; her grandchildren, Sara Gips Goodall (Gavin Goodall), Allie Gips and Rachel Gips; her great grandchild Ellen Harris (Ray McNulty) of Brewster, MA; and also, Katherine Bode (Eric Bode), Patrick Gannon, Evan Gannon (Emily Gannon) and Casey Gannon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan's name to The Bucks County SPCA, 1665 Street Road, New Hope, PA 18938.
