He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth Swartley (Moyer); his parents, Elias Swartley and Mary Ann Swartley (Alderfer); his children, Sharon Landes (Ronald) of Silverdale, Donald Swartley (Sandy) of Wysox, Thomas Swartley (Miriam) of Canadensis and Michael Swartley (Jill) of Friendsville; his brothers-in-law, Russell Gehman of Souderton and Gordon Yoder (Grace) of Chambersburg; and his sisters, Naomi Yoder, Grace Detweiler and Thelma Yoder. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
