He was predeceased by : his mother Brice Mauk; his sons, Michael, Rodney and Richard; and his brothers, Lt. James Watson, Thomas Watson of Franklin and Jack Mauk of Texas.

He is survived by : his siblings, Hester Bobbitt and Mark Watson; his stepbrother Bob; his wife Wilda McKinley; and his children, Mark of Franklin and Judy King Mercer (Duane).
