She was predeceased by: her parents, William L. Markel and Betty V. Markel Sr. (Drake); her sister Barbara; her sibling's children, John "Johnny" Joseph Kobuck IV and Katie Lou Markel; and her great-nephew Carter Andrew Hook.
She is survived by: her daughters, Heather Leah Mitchell and Elizabeth Ellen Evans; her grandchildren, Olivia R. Laich (Eric), Vincent S. Mitchell, Drake C. Mitchell and Sophia E. Mitchell; her siblings, William L. Markel Jr. (Pamela), Mitzi E. Kobuck (John), Jeffrey Markel and Lisa Jo Plowman (John); and her nephew Charles F. Nearhoof Jr..
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Feller Memorial (817 W 15th St, Tyrone, PA 16686). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at the same location.
