She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Rude and Dorothy Soden Rude; her son Jay Freeman Howell; and her siblings, Esther Radford, Jeanette Patten, Marion Taylor and Charles Rude.
She is survived by: her husband Freeman J. Howell; her daughters, Nina Hubal (George), Ararat Twp and Carina Howell (James Howell); her grandchildren, Ashley Hubal (Brian Supsic), Jessica Hubal (Nick Felter), Alyssa Hubal, Henry Howell and Cora Howell; and her sisters, Joan Burkard of Honesdale and Lorraine Branning of Honesdale. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
