He was predeceased by: his parents, William McLaughlin and Mary McLaughlin; his wife Margaret Mary; his son Kevin McLaughlin; and his siblings, William, Edward, Harry, Jane, Margie and Betty.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bob" McLaughlin, Jr. (Maryellen), Margie Brown (Ed) and Bill McLaughlin (Eileen). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
