He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Layton and Frances Layton (Harris); his pet Pooch (Abby); Donald Truax. He is survived by: his wife Helen Shaw Layton; his children, Alan (Ann) of Sykesville, MD. and Tina (Robert Crawford) of Warfordsburg, PA.; his granddaughters, Erica (David Warrenfeltz), Diana (Darren Edwards), Michelle Golden, Sarah (Carl Musser) and Alana (Eric Birzon); his great grandchildren, Faith Anne (Sal), Emalyn, Addison and Ryalan; his sister Betty Shives; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ward and Laura Creek. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whips Cove Church (5044 Moss Rd, Warfordsburg, PA 17267). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
