She was predeceased by: her parents, Swart Johnston and Valdie Johnston; and her granddaughter Alexandra D. Chmel. She is survived by: her husband Vincent S. Chmel, Jr.; her children, Vincent S. Chmel III (Cindy) of Claysville, Vicki A. White (Ted) of Mooresville, NC and Dean T. Chmel (Elisa) of Wheeling, WV; her grandchildren, Sabrina Beck (Jeremy), Erik Chmel (Haley), Taylor Chmel (Chelsea), Lauren Mercurio (George) and Hunter White (Kaitlyn); her great grandchildren, Jackson, Bailee Beck, Lily and Thomas Mercurio; and her sister-in-law Jeanette A. Floss. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the UPMC Benevolent Care Fund, and mailed to Strabane Woods, 319 Wellness Way, Washington, PA 15301; or to Gateway Hospice, 95 W. Beau St., Suite 510, Washington, PA 15301.
