He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo Shadel and Anna Sten Shadel. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lackovich Shadel; his children, William Jr. (Nicole) of Peters Township, Kirk (Malin) of Beaver County and Laura Lock (Scott) of Ashburn, Virginia.; his grandchildren, Mila, Gus Shadel, Stina, Anneli, Magdalena Shadel, Christopher and Morgan Lock; and his sister June Ann Jones. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
