She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert George and Oneita Belford (Senn); her husband Hubert D. "Butch" Carter; her great grandchild Rowen Usher; and her brother Albert Jonathan Belford.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Lynn Richardson of Waynesburg, Shelly Richardson (Philip) of Holbrook, Brandy W. and Jennifer Burns (Bradley) of Waynesburg; her grandchildren, Zackary Whipkey of Austin, TX, Daniel Usher (Molly) of Washington, Craig Usher of Holbrook, Dakota Usher (Emily) of Washington, Abel Richardson of Holbrook, Kirsten Sotler (Ryan) of Graysville, Kevin Tuttle (Stephanie) of Ronco, Katelynn Cahill (Jacob) of Quaker City, OH., Kloe Tuttle of Wind Ridge, Alexander Burns (Shannon) of Waynesburg and Nicholas Burns of Waynesburg; her great grandchildren, Olivia, Ivy, Lily Usher, Aubrey, Rylee, Emalee, Zoe, Jordan Sotler, Jacob and Waylon Cahill; her sisters, Sharon Price (Curtis) of Waynesburg and Susan Pyles (Sherwood) of Cameron, WV.; and her sisters-in-law, Joy Anderson (Junior), Barbara Herring (Ben) and Judy Beresford (Dave). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marie was also a volunteer, along with her family, for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
