He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Barnhart and Jean Barnhart (Meighen). He is survived by: his daughters, Ariel Barnhart and Beverly Barnhart; and his sister Beverly A. White of East Stroudsburg. He is also survived by niece; two nephews and several cousins.
