He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Kimberly (Mother Joyce Williams); his grandchildren, Dusty and Tara; his son Dale (Mother Joyce Williams); his grandchildren, Zachary, Emily and Samuel; his daughter JoBeth (Mother Joyce Williams); his grandchildren, Sydney and RayLynn; his sons, D. Daniel Davis (Daniel) and John-Glen Davis; his stepfather Glendin Shamblin of Charleston; his parents, Doyle Daniel Davis and Nelle Davis Shamblin (Kester); his wife Lori Paletta-Davis; and also Pam Davis. He was also cherished by five children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
His final act of giving was donation of his body to science.
