It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Douglas Mathason (Waynesburg, Pennsylvania), who passed away on January 19, 2020, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Robert and Patricia Irene Mathason (Zollars). He is survived by: his wife Dee Dee; his children, Emily Mathason (Michael Roque, Jr.) of Los Angeles, CA, Michelle Mathason (Corey Brown) of Lancaster, PA and Derek Mathason; his siblings, Gerald "Joe" Zollars of Ambridge, PA, Steven Zollars of Perryopolis, PA, Paul Randall "Randy" Mathason of Lexington, SC and Patricia Ann Mathason of Waynesburg, PA; and his stepfather Terry L. Whipkey of Center Township.
His passion for the outdoors led him to become a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting and conserving elk habitat.
