It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William R. Bates Jr. of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, William R. Bates, and Sarah Bates, Sr. (Snyder); and his brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Bates. He is survived by : his sons, William R. Bates, III (Hannah), Chuck Dean (Michelle) of Jefferson and Michael Bates (Erin Stoll) of Waynesburg; his grandchildren, Theo, Brant, Noah, Maggie Bates, Dustin, Chelsea and Ike Dean; and his siblings, Barbara Ankrom (Bill) of Jefferson, Bob Bates (Pat) of Jefferson and Patti Ross (Hubert) of Wind Ridge. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
