He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick W. Brookover and Daisy Brookover (Dinsdale); his wife Ethel; and his brother Frederick. He is survived by: his sons, George R. Brookover, II (Kathleen), Thomas A. Brookover Sr. (Jamie), Brian D. Brookover (Carolyn) and Grandpop. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
