He was predeceased by: his parents, James Francis Whalen and Mary Rita Rhoades Whalen; and his brother Francis Whalen (Ellen). He is survived by: his wife Mary Kelly Whalen; his son Charles Whalen (Lauren Gardner); his stepson Paul Sugzdinis; his grandson Ryder Whalen; and his siblings, Joseph Whalen, Joyce Buchinski (Charles) and Rita Karchewski (Walter). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
