He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Piorkowski and Helen Lukesh Piorkowski; and his brother Robert Piorkowski. He is survived by: his wife Florence S. Piorkowski; his children, Dr. Joseph D. Piorkowski, Jr., Anne Hovis, Michael Piorkowski, Dr. Elizabeth Ruskey (John), Dr. Thomas Piorkowski (Janice) and Christine Barth (Rob); his stepsons, Gary Kovach and Barry Kovach; his grandchildren, Joey, Gina, Johnny, Erin, Natalie, Nikki, Mila, Bridget, Anna, Jake and Katherine; his stepgrandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Logan and Kiefer; and his great grandchild Tony.
