He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Rock and Eleanor Rock (Gilboy); and his son James. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Toole Rock; his children, Maryann Rock-Zabilowicz (John), Paul (Teresa), Kathleen Rock-Ferraro, Michael (Sharon) and John; and his sister Anne Ayoub (William). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
