He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Gale (Purcell); his parents, Frances (Brown) and William E. Gale, Sr.; his children, William, Michael, Thomas, Matthew and Julianne McCarthy; and his sisters, Carol Phiel and Elaine Deaver. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren.
