In loving memory of James M. Shimmel Sr. of West Decatur, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on July 2, 2025 at the age of 69. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shimmel and Iva Shimmel (Mease); his granddaughter Brooke; and his brothers, Emery L. Mease and Robert Leon Shimmel.
He is survived by: his wife Kathey Shimmel (Lyons); his children, Jamie Serena (Paul) of Shawville and James Shimmel Jr. (Jessica) of Clearfield; his grandchildren, Devon (Mackenzie), Elizabeth (Merritt), Caitlyn, Meghan, Olivia, Makenzie and Shannon; his great grandchildren, James and Gwendolyn; and his siblings, Elwood Clair Shimmel of Palmerton, Walter Roy Shimmel Sr. of West Decatur and Joyce Elaine Minerich of Gibsonia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
