With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty J. Torkar of West Newton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Anton Vertacnik and Sarah Vertacnik (Simmons); her husband Matthew Torkar; and her brother Robert Vertacnik. She is survived by : her children, James Torkar (Kathy), Patricia Tonda (Elmer), Nancy Urick (Peter) and Janet Trout; and her grandchildren, Brian Torkar (Jenni Lynn), Jamie Swartz (Douglas), Erin Seigh (Richard), Matthew Brody (Chiara), Jonathan Tonda (Alexis) and Jessica Tonda. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
