Robert L. Thornton Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2021, at the age of 90, Robert L. Thornton of West Pittston, Pennsylvania, born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thornton and Eleanor Thornton (Stortz); his close friend Catherine "Kay" Gallagher; his daughter Catherine Kline (Thornton); his granddaughter Orlena Kline; and his siblings, Helen McGinley, Margaret O'Donnell, Catherine O'Brien and John "Jack" Thornton.
He is survived by: his children, Robert (Brenda) of Bethany Beach, DE, William (Carol), Brian (Leza), Erin Thornton, Mary Pat Appel (John) of Bowie, MD, West of Wyoming, Holly Hennebaul (Charles) and Kelly Mayes (Chris) of Beaumont, TX; and his brother William Thornton (Mary Ellen). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
