He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Murphy (Pugarelli); his parents, John W. Murphy and Ella Murphy (Heffron); and his daughters, Kathryn Murphy and Susan McGuane (Mark).
He is survived by: his children, Deborah A. Fisher (Thomas) and John W. Murphy, III (Mihaela). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home (739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611). A Mass will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church (2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609). A burial will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Catherine's Cemetery.
