He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara (Danko); his children, Dr. Richard (Lisa), Doug (Mae) and Karen Barnes; his grandchildren, Ryan Barnes, Lauren Ottaviani (Cory), Megan, Matthew, Stephen, Kevin Barnes, Michael Barone and Heather Barnes; his great grandchild Ella Grace Ottaviani; and his sister Carol Laska (John).
