It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jemiel Mary Grant (Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania), who passed away on September 24, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Shiner and Mary Shiner; her husband Thomas Lux Grant; her son Thomas Lee Grant; and her siblings, Anthony Shiner (Bertha), Leona Binkley (Harold) and Angeline Khalife (Anthony).
She is survived by: her daughters, Jemiel Smeltz (Dan), Kimberly MacMullen and Ruth Grant of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Zachery, Kara Smeltz, Lauren and Collin MacMullen; her sister Suzanne Petrolonis (Anthony) of Ormond Beach, FL; Rev. Adib Salameh. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home (89 Park Ave, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 9:30 AM and at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony-St. George Maronite Catholic Church Building Fund, c/o 323 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
