He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Koval and Anna Koval (Makuch) of North Wilkes; and his brother Raymond Koval. He is survived by: his wife Mary R. Koval (McDaniels); his children, Donna Martin (James T. Martin, Jr.) of Forty Fort, Richard Koval (Wendy) of Laurel Run and Janet Koval (Michael Ullman) of Wilkes-Barre; his grandchildren, David Koval (Lori), Steven Koval (Melissa Duda), Jimmy T. Martin (Rachael) and Kaitlyn Fitzgerald (Michael); his great grandchildren, Lennon, Hartlee, Deane Fitzgerald, Miles Martin and Jayce Koval; and his sister Ann Marie Murray of South Carolina. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cherished friends, and the many brothers.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc. (625 N Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (116 Hughes St, Swoyersville, PA 18704). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
