He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph E., Sr. and Ellen T. McGovern (Lawell); and his brother Joseph E. McGovern, Jr.. He is survived by : his sisters, Patricia Afflerbach (Dennis), Eileen McGovern, Marie Ladely (Edward) and Christine Cassidy (Dave). He is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews, and several close friends.
