Rolland D. Ackelson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rolland D. Ackelson of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 23, 2022 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Ackelson and Laura M. Ackelson (MacPherson); his siblings, Dr. J. Stuart Ackelson and Carole Schwoerer; and his friend Ernest J. Bauschman.
He is survived by: his wife LaVerna Y. "Bernie" Ackelson (Bier); and his children, R. Duane Jr. (Sharon Ackelson), Laura A. Gay of Virginia Beach, VA, Judson D. (Debbie Ackelson), Greenfields, Paige M. Ackelson (Ed Babczak) of La Plata, MD and James A. (Dawn Ackelson) of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
