He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Koontz and Nancy Reck (Benedict); his brother Garry Koontz; and his stepmother Ella Mae Koontz (Woodring). He is survived by: his children, Darrell Koontz (Leigh) and Jennifer Koontz. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
