He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy C. Atkinson (Eldred) and Clair W. Atkinson; and his sister Carolyn Hill. He is survived by: his wife Sara Croner Atkinson; his children, Douglas Eldred Atkinson of Noblesville, IN and Amy Nicole Hester of Paul Hester, M. D.; his grandchildren, Kelly, Daniel, Michael Hester, Evie and Carter Atkinson; and his nieces, Lynda Kleman of Harrisburg, PA and Nancy Larsen (George) of Rising. He is also survived by Son, MD; great nephew, great nieces, and great-great nephews.
