He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest H. Ropp and Lois J. Ropp (Eberly). He is survived by: his wife Linda Ropp (Bowers); his children, Michelle Smyser (Tom), Ernest Ropp (Deslynn), Angela Baker (Jim) and Veronica Johnson (Gary); and his granddaughter Amy Smyser. He is also survived by animals that wondered onto his property and his special pets who lived with him and his wife.
