He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin and Mary; his stepfather Charles E. Brown; his grandparents, John Webb, Jr. and Marylee Webb (Moody); and his sister Melvina Boanes.

He is survived by: his children, Jeremiah Dickson of York and Nichelle Banks (Dowling); and his siblings, Melvin C. Boanes, Jr. and Michelle Boanes. He is also survived by two grandsons, nieces, nephews, cousins.
