He was predeceased by: his parents, Connor B. Carter and Kathryn Stewart Carter; and his siblings, Ray Carter, Kenneth P. Carter, Hazel Yeager and Betty Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Ann L. Carter (Goldman); and his sons, John (Cindy Carter), Timothy (Sue Carter), Minn and Mark (Terri Carter).
