He was predeceased by: his son Donald H. Willing; his sister Virginia W. Elliott; and also Barbara Willing (Smelzer). He is survived by: his spouse Ellen Willing (Gotwalt); his daughter Diane E. Willing Hellekson (Ronald) of Veneta, OR; his stepdaughter Susan Yancey Stich (Matthew) of Vienna, VA; and also Linda F. Willing (Nicholas Drelles) of Grand Lake, CO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
