He was predeceased by : his parents, John J. Kiernan and Margaret Kiernan (Farrell); and his siblings, Charles, John Kiernan, Alice O'Donnell and Helena Earles.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia R. Kiernan (Masterson); his children, Maureen P. Melfi (Robert) of Cranston, John J. Kiernan (Rachel) of Lincoln, Peter F. Kiernan (Alison) of Cranston and Raymond E. Kiernan, Jr. (Wendy) of Warwick; his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew Bennett, Nolan, Haley Kiernan and Ana Melfi; and his close friend Bill Wilson.

Because of the Covid 19 restrictions, burial will be private family only.
