He was predeceased by: his wife Claire Fontaine (O'Mara); and his siblings, Rene Fontaine, Lorraine Jones Joly and Joan Demma. He is survived by: his children, Lynne Brodeur (Gary), Richard Fontaine, Jr. (Dawn), Paul Fontaine, Dennis Fontaine (Debi Iacono), Cathy Frappier (Philip), Edward Fontaine (Liberty) and Joanne Brunetti (Bartolomeo).
