He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude M. "Trudy" (Tessier); and his parents, Theodore J. Kostyla and Ruth L. Kostyla (Kershaw). He is survived by: his son David; his sister Carolyn Stepka (Eddie); and his sibling's children, Kristen Benedetti, Dr. Karen Farren, Bethanie Parenteau and Dr. Greg Stepka.
