We are sad to announce that on January 20, 2022, at the age of 102, Richard H. Bohning (Hope Valley, Rhode Island) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his wife Evelyn Maxon Bitgood. He is survived by : his son Dr. Richard H. Bohning, Jr.; his granddaughter Gillian M. Wyckoff; and his great grandchild Toby. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He served as editor of the Ohio Journal of Science from 1953-56, and in 1957 was awarded a National Science Foundation Faculty Fellowship to study the teaching of General Botany at 16 leading universities in the US.
