Though Carmalina may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carmalina touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gregorio Materas and Jennie Materas (Giacobbi); her spouses, Rene Gentes of Woonsocket and Anthony Pacheco; and her son Vincent Gentes of Providence.
She is survived by: her sons, Rene Gentes Jr. of Connecticut and Richard Gentes of Woonsocket. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (1409 Park Ave, Woonsocket, RI 02895).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carmalina can be made to the St. Antoine Residence Activities Fund.
