He was predeceased by: his parent John F. Balcewicz; and his sibling Stella Kelly. He is survived by: his significant other Ellen M. Brederson; his parent Pauline Balcewicz (Steczkowna); and his siblings, Stanley Balcewicz (June) of Riverside, John Balcewicz, Eleanor Chaffin, Baby Michael Balcewicz and Helen Jenkins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
