He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Regina Barbosa Fontes (Ferreira); his parents, Manuel Fontes and Teodora Fontes (Monteiro); his children, José Eduardo Fontes (Maria Ivone Oliveira) and Lígia Maria Fontes of East Providence; his grandchildren, Alexander Borts, Patricia Veiga, Keila Veiga, Andrew Borts, Dulce Fontes, Liana Borts, Gabriela Carson and Luca Fontes; and his siblings, Emídio Fontes, Aquiles Fontes, Severa Fontes, Santa Fontes, Maria José Fontes, Paulina Monteiro, Vital Fontes, Joana Fontes Pestana, Fernando Fontes, José Marcos Fontes, Jaime Vieira Fontes, Marcelino Rodrigues and Margarida Fontes.
Due to the current state of Covid-19, and per family request, his funeral will be private.
