He is survived by : his spouse Douangpy Phommavong; his children, Pariss Petersen, Phou Phommavong and Marina Phommavong; his grandchildren, Matthew Petersen and Meya Petersen; and his siblings, Phangham Thongthep, Somkham Thongthep, Ngam Thongthep and Joot Thongthep.

Due to the current restrictions of COVID-19, services will be held privately.
