Smith; his children, Nicole Suber (Tyrone), Adrian Carr, Carl Smith Jr. (Shannon), Jamar, Joel and Jermaine Mitchell; his siblings, Frank Smith Jr. (Linda), Carelia Smith (Polly) and Pauline Gary (Sammie); his aunts and uncles, Minnie Marks (Leroy) and Fairy McCoy (Robert); his mother-in-law Carrie Williams; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pierce, Geneva Walker and Odessa Williams.
