It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harriet Jackson of Aiken, South Carolina, born in Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on March 9, 2021, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her mother Betty Choate Matthews; and her son Franklin Matthews Jackson. She is survived by: her father Benjamin Franklin Matthews II; her sons, Frank and Peter K. Jackson II; her siblings, Gene Matthews (Katherine) of Gastonia, NC and Mary Matthews Vaughn (Vernon); her siblings' children, Ben Matthews (Melanie), Katie Darling (Edward) and Elizabeth Edwards (Duke); and her close friend Billy Rangos.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses who worked tirelessly to care for Harriet during her fight against the Coronavirus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the United Way of Aiken County, 235 Barnwell Ave NW Aiken, SC 29801 and Hopelands Gardens P.O. Box 2213 Aiken, SC 29802.
