He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis (JL) and Mamie Taylor Beckum; his sisters, Wilma Bussey (James), Dorothy Burnett (Ben), Margaret Black (Winford) and Ruth Peiffer (William); and his siblings' children, Kay Wilbanks (Travis) and Robert Black (Bonita).
He is survived by: his wife Veronica Ann Beckum (Chapman); his son Matthew James Beckum (Carole) of Aiken; his grandchildren, Casey Ann Beckum of Anderson, SC and Adam Lewis Beckum of Greenville, SC.; and his sibling's children, Lynn Jones (John Paul) of Whitesburg, GA, Sharon Gordon (Neil) and Phillip Black of Martinez, GA..
