She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Avila and Sara Connors Avila; her husband Manuel Nunes Caiado; her children, Donald Wayne Caiado, Robert Steven Caiado and Sandra Jane Sylvia; and her brothers, John Avila and George Avila.
She is survived by: her children, Norma Jean Souza (Robert) of Acushnet, MA, Michael Allan Eldredge (William) of Harwich, MA and Debra Kelley (Michael) of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Julie Souza, Dawn Souza, Kristy Guillotte (Shaun), Jason Caiado (Jessica), Joshua Caiado (Barbara), Amanda Robichaud (Wayne White), Nicole Sylvia, Sandra Caiado, Katherine Caiado, Cristine Sylvia (Richard), Matthew Sylvia (Erin), Christopher Kelley (Melanie) and Sarah Kolehmainen (Eetu); and her brother Arthur Avila (Maureen). She is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Muriel's request was for memorials to be sent to DonorsChoose.org, a program to benefit teachers.
