He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marion Joseph Croft and Hattie Gardner Croft; his children, Walter and Judy Croft Shurtleff (Jeff) of Augusta; his grandchildren, Britt Shurtleff of San Diego, Jeffrey Shurtleff of Atlanta, Jonathan Shurtleff (Julianna) of Augusta, Walter Paul Croft (Emily) of Dayton and Adele Croft Hunt (Kermit); his great grandchildren, Jon Shurtleff, Jackson Shurtleff, Sienna Croft and Jessie Croft; his siblings-in-law, Lucy Allen Still of Winston Salem, NC, Blanche Allen Faulkenberry of Winston Salem, NC, Nancy Hunt (JW) of Pinnacle, NC, Lonnie Allen (Frances) of Pinnacle, NC, Fred Allen of Gastonian, NC and Frank Allen (Ella Mae) of Charlotte, NC; and his wife Mae Allen Croft. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
It was also a celebration and testament to his strength for surviving the isolation of Covid year 2020 when family was not allowed inside the residence.
