He is survived by : his wife Juanita Middleton; his children, James L. Middleton, Jr. and Vanessa Middleton; his grandchildren, Brittney Ogike and Khris Middleton; his sister Pamela Barnes; and his sister-in-law Bernice Middleton. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Due to COVID-19, the family will not be receiving visitors at the home.
