It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clay Edward Hammonds of Barnwell, South Carolina, born in Blackville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 23, 2021, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Hammonds and Hattie Mae Hammonds; his sister Eartha Mae Thompson; and his son Ty'Queyveon Badger. He is survived by: his wife Rena M. Hammonds; his children, Andrae Williams (Jessica), Ty'Rek Badger and Tyrone Badger; his grandchildren, Melissa, AJ and Landon Williams; his siblings, Fannie Mae Smalls, Betty Williams, Betty Singleton, Jennie Daniels, James "Bo" Hammonds, Joe Louis Hammonds (Evangelist Willia Mae) and Matthew Hammonds; his aunt Federina Odom; his mother-in-law Emma Williams; his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Dicks (Aaron), Joyce Roundtree (Louis), Willie Clay James (Carolyn), William James (Gloria), Mack Williams (Sheila), Arthur Williams (Wanda), Terry Williams (Charanda) and Tony Williams (Linda); his nephew Tony Hammonds; and his friends, Jamie Simmons and Stephanie Bonds. He is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
