Marjorie McCorkle Claytor Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie McCorkle Claytor (Barnwell, South Carolina), born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 22, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Jetton and Lula Belle Calhoun McCorkle; her sister Elizabeth McCorkle Brice; her son Hugh McCorkle Claytor; and her grandson Hugh McCorkle Claytor, Jr. (Corey).
She is survived by: her son Philip P. Claytor, Jr. (Phil); her daughter-in-law Linda Porter Claytor; her daughters, Dorothy Claytor Jackson (Traye) and Elizabeth Claytor Ayers (Stephen); and her grandchildren, Trent Howell (Heather), Will Rutherford (Gabrielle), Brannon Rutherford, Cecilia Claytor, Elliott McRae Claytor and Elizabeth Claytor. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corey Claytor Memorial Scholarship Fund at the GSSM (Governor's School for Science and Mathematics) Foundation, 1122 Lady St., Suite 700, Columbia, SC or Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church.
